You may add our two B's to your locator list! We own VINs 1948 and 1949. Both are Safety Green 1975s. We are located in Riverside MO, a suburb of Kansas City.
** Webmaster ** We are always looking for VIN numbers to track - especially ones in junkyards or that have been destroyed. John Blair manages the Registry - I've alerted him to this entry. I believe we had 1948 but not 1949. Thanks!

I saw a Bricklin in Alberta, Canada, for sale a few years back, less than $10,000 asking price. Should have bought it! I could have, then... No family, good job, etc. The funny thing about this one, is it wasn't any of the colors shown on this site. This particular car was maroon! Is it possible someone painted the acrylic surface surface? mark markbyn@hotmail.com
** Webmaster ** Yes - that is possible. You have to seal the acrylics properly, but it has been done.

I was one of the proud workers at the Bricklin Canada Ltd. assembly plant in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1974-1975. I took numerous pictures of the grand opening outside and inside the plant that day. I worked as Quality Control Supervisor and was there the evening representatives from the Clarkson-Gordon firm came in to take over the plant for the Province after an emergency meeting at the Holiday Inn hotel in Saint John between Malcolm Bricklin and Premier Hatfield. There was a lot of bad local press, in particular the local talk show host which didn't give it much of a chance. I remember lots of visits to the plant by Malcolm, his mother, his Father (Albert) and others. I also remember a lot of enthusiastic workers there who felt a great loss the day the plant closed. YOUR WEBSITE IS GREAT! Especially the Discovery Channel video.
** BI Webmaster ** Thanks for the info! (I've attempted to contact you via e-mail about the possibility of getting some of your photos for this site.)

In 1974 I was 14 years old and when I seen the Bricklin for the first time, I was amazed at the beauty of that car. I had allways dreamed of just seeing one up close until 1980 I got to drive in one that was owned by my freinds father. Ever since that day,I became one of those dreamers to own one! Well maybe someday? P.S. Love your site Terry Boreland Birthplace of the Bricklin.
** BI Webmaster ** We appreciate you stopping by. The cars are still affordable - hold on to your dreams!!
P.S. - Thanks for your kind comments, too!

I remember seeing a red Bricklin on the street in Toronto back some time in the 70's. Wow what a car.. remember what other cars looked like in the 70's? Not so good. The Bricklin was so futuristic and impressive. Now it's a unique classic and still turns heads. I love them!
Great site.
** BI Webmaster ** We appreciate you stopping by. Thanks for the comments.

I Would Like To Know If Anyone Knows Where CAR number 75 red And Car Number 240 Green Are. We Owned The Two Cars.
** BI Webmaster ** Those members willing to share their location can be found at http://www.bricklin.org/BI_MemberPicturePage.htm (turn on the captions). For privacy purposes, BI does not release this information without permission. We CAN contact the current owner(s) on your behalf and ask them to contact you (if we know who it is). Unfortunately, most owners don't think to let us know when a car changes hands - it has always been a challenge to keep good, current information on each of the VINs.
If you wish to pursue this further and you can't find someone in the area on the Member Pictures page, your next best chance is to contact the Director responsible for the VIN Registry (currently John Blair). He may be able to 'hook you up'.

I used to work on these cars when they were new. Installed air door systems, waterproofed, installed carpeting, and general repairs. I worked at at Western Auto in Sterling, Va. and worked for the then president of the BIOC, Jack Siuta. I have repaired a few over the years, but haven't touched one in probably 10 yrs. I did a search on the web and found your site. Does anyone know what ever happened to Jack, I have not seen or heard from him in probably 25 years.
** BI Webmaster ** Sorry Rob. Jack recently passed on. Although he did not participate with the club for many years we had the good fortune to contact him before he passed. Jack can be counted as one of those responsible for BI being here. He will be missed.

The classified page has not been updated for about 2 months. Several of the listings are very old (one was sold about 1 year ago). Perhaps a periodic purge of old classified ads (every 60 days or so) would solve the problem.
** BI Webmaster ** Our apologies. We'll try to do better. Please - feel free to contact us at http://www.bricklin.org/BI_Contacts.htm if you need to bring issues with this site to our attention.

Im only a 16 year old teen ready to get his lisence and i was really admiring these old school bricklins. I accidently ran into these beauty's after searching up on the somewhat related over priced deloreans. These cars don't seem to be too much in pricing and I really cant find any in hawaii, which is where I live. Im not used to shipping methods and such..so would you please give me some information on car costs, shipping, possible places I could by this sweet car, and any other things that might be helpful. Thanks -Luca

The first time I saw the Bricklin I was only 4 years old and there was one on display in a shopping mall in Saint John, New Brunswick. I have been facinated with it ever since and I always felt bad that Bricklin's companies went bankrupt, but that is one of the things that make it so interesting. I hope to own my own Bricklin in the future. Great site
** BI Webmaster ** Thanks for the feeback!!

I was interested in the website because I'm pretty sure I had seen two Bricklins in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and I was curious about the car. Very interesting automobile and what a history. Can you tell me if there is still a Bricklin owner in Sault Ste. Marie?
** BI Webmaster ** For privacy reasons, BI does not release information on VIN locations or owner information. We can probably give you a yes / no answer and contact the owner on your behalf and ask he / she contact you if he / she is so inclined. That also assumes that we have current information. Unfortunately, most folks don't let us know when a car changes hands. Best chance is to contact the Director responsible for the VIN Registry (currently John Blair) directly. See our contact page - http://www.bricklin.org/BI_Contacts.htm.

Hello Bricklin Web Site, You have my gratitude. It's been a long time since my Bricklin has been out of my multi-car and boat drive in basement. I haven't even sat in it for over 15 years. Every once in a while I find your site and consider resurrecting my 1974 - 4 speed. My thanks to you for keeping the mark breathing and alive.
Best regards,

At http://bricklin.org/SpecsFrameBottom.htm, the Bricklin is listed as FOB Fredericton, NB. However, it was built in Saint John, NB. Your other web-site information, including main page has this correct, however.

Great site! I used to work at Bricklin in the Quality Control Department - best job I've ever had. Comment on Bricklin specs: prior to the 351 Windsor, they used a 360 American Motors, probably the same as mid-70s Cherokees.

I only recently found out about the existance of the SV-1 and am very interested in them, but I have been unable to find any info on the common problem areas. So i was wondering if an owner of one could email me and tell me about this or if you have a link to this kind of info. This website was very informative but all the info I saw was positive and I want to know what I'm getting into if I purchase one. Thank you for your time and for your website.
** BI Webmaster ** Best way to find out the true story is to talk to the people that own them - and that's what our Forum is for! You can sign up at http://www.bricklin.org/Forum/portal_content.asp. All are welcome to this free venue!
